21 Questions tag

Hey Everyone! I was tagged by Lulu to answer these questions :)

Why did you start blogging?
I became interested in a bunch of beauty channels on YouTube and then got into beauty blogs. I thought it would be fun to try it out!
What made you choose the name of your blog?
I did not want anything too cutesy & I wanted to be able to include beauty/fashion/life/etc so I felt like Let's Just Talk was pretty inclusive.
What 5 words describe you?
Sweet, fun, happy, calm, and unexpected.
What is your favourite band?
I like so many different bands..I love pop, rock, rap, country, and alternative so it is impossible to pick just one band! I do love Mayday Parade, All Time Low, Luke Bryan, Taylor Swift, ADELE, Drake....the list goes on.

If you could be a character in a book, who would you be?
wow this is a tough one...I used to read soo much and lately school has taken over my life and i cannot read for fun. I think any character in a Sarah Dessen book or Nicholas Sparks.
What is your favourite accessory?
My boyfriend gave me a necklace on Christmas 2010 that i never take off. It is a white gold heart with pink and white diamonds along one side. This past year he got me a ring that is white gold with pink and white diamonds on it to match. These are my 2 favorites. Other than that I absolutely love shoes and have way too many pairs :)
What is the beauty item you cannot live without?
I really could not make it without mascara. I love the way it frames my eyes. I have pretty long lashes but without mascara I feel naked.

What is your favourite country?
I have only ever been in America, where I live so I don't feel like I can answer this honestly. i would love to travel the world.

What is your favourite shop?
I have a lot, but unfortunately where I live there aren't very many. I am doomed to our mall of Victoria's Secret, American Eagle, Journeys, Wet Seal, and GAP. Sometimes I can take a trip to visit Forever21, Hollister, and Buckle but they are in a mall about an hour away.
What are your favourite foods?
I seriously love all food. I particularly like pasta and chicken.

Who is your role model and why?
My role model has always been my sister. She is so smart and so strong.
What is your favourite perfume?
I use so many different ones. Right now I am loving Angel by Victoria's Secret and also their Pink warm and cozy. Be Enchanted by Bath & Body Work's is good too.

What product do you regret buying?
I am going to say....nail polish. I paint my toenails alot but never my fingernails because I am not aloud to for school. However, I have a ton of polishes and never use them. Also the Maybelline Dream Bouncy blush.
Do you do any sports?
Nope. In middle school I played volleyball and in high school I was a swimmer. i'm just not very athletic anymore.
What food would you not be able to live without?
hmm..probably yogurt. I eat it everyday.
What clothes would you not be caught dead in?
Wow...probably anything that just did not fit or made me look ridiculous.
What do you prefer, roast beef or chicken (unless you’re a vegetarian)?
Chicken for sure.

What is your favourite thing to do in the summer?
there are sooo many but my favorite of all time is going to the lake with my best friend and hanging out on her boat. Also just wearing flipflops, opening the sunroof on my car, and the little things. Being tan is pretty nice too.
What is your favourite shade of lipstick?
I am not a lipstick person, sorry. I really like the Sugar Plum tinted lip treatment by fresh, CO Bigelow Mentha Organics Sheer Lip Tint in Barely There from Bath & Body Works and my favorite is Jouer lip enhancer.
Do you have any weird habits?
I am neat freak, as in almost OCD/germaphobe. i go on cleaning crazes through the house, just cleaning and organizing.
If you had £1000 what charity would you give it to and why?
That is a hard one, but probably something like the Susan G. Komen for Breast cancer, or maybe just clinical trials. It would def be for something medical.

I hope you enjoyed my answers. I officially tag: anyone who wants to do this! Just leave a comment down below & I'll check out your answers :)

Review of Garnier B.B. Cream

Good evening. I am supposed to be studying but I am taking a little blogging break instead :) About 2 weeks ago I purchased the Garnier B.B Cream. After using it this long I feel like I am ready to share what I think with you all.

This is the Garnier B.B. Cream in Light/Medium. The box claims to 'Instantly Renew, Brighten, Even, and Hydrate." It provides SPF 15 UVA and UVB sunscreen. It contains Vitamin C, which is great for moisure andnew skin growth. I looked it up and found out that B.B. stands for Blemish Balm. That is not a very glamourizing name for a face cream that has been buzzed about everywhere lately.

I have found it to be an extremely light weight formula. If you are prone to oily skin, this is not the product for you. I have very dry skin but this tends to give me an oily appearance if I apply it too heavily. I have noticed that it covers like any tinted moisturizer, so there is a sheer tint of color but does nothing to any blemishes present. The box claims to "even skin tone and blur out imperfections." It has not caused me any breakouts, but it has not cleared up any that I already have. As for a tinnted moisturizer, it is great because it offers that light coverage with SPF included. I realy like it, especially when I am in a hurry to get ready for class. However, I do not think it is the beauty miracle that the box makes it out to be. I think it will be really nice in the summer when I'm going to the lake or doing something outside since it has SPF. Another note: I think this light/medium is closer to medium. Yes, i am pretty pale, but I have been tanning and I feel like if I was using this in the winter when I have zero tan, it would be too dark. I like this B.B cream but I would like to try out other brands to compare.

Have you tried any B.B. creams yet? If so, what did you think?

Loves

Hello everyone! I am so sorry I haven't blogged in a such a long time. Life has been super crazy busy. School has been very time consuming & I have also been working on the weekends and trying to see my boyfriend...so after all of that, I don't have any energy left. It's been a while so I have a bunch of products I have been using & am loving!

This is the Laura Geller Bronze-n-brighten. I have never used any of her line before, but I am pretty impressed. I got the shade: fair.

Here is the opened bronzer. I am a pretty pale person so I get easily intimidated by bronzers, but this one is very light & is a great shade of light bronzy/tan with a mixture of slightly shimmery light pink. I have been using it as a contour & it looks really good, especially since I have been tanning.

The Mary-Lou Manizer is a beautiful golden/candlelight luminizer. I have been applying this to the tops of my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, under my eyebrows, & inner corners of my eyes. It creates a light golden highlight without being too glittery or shiny.

As you can see, the inside of my luminizer has brush marks & finger prints. haha. I have used this everyday since I got it! It is def a new favorite :)

Here is the benefit BAD gal lash mascara. I am a mascara junkie! This one is def on my list of favorites. At first sight, I did not think I was going to like the brush because it looks pretty huge, but it applies nicely. The formula is not too thick but not too thin, so it stays put all day with no flaking or smudging. I am in love <3

Maybelline Define-A-Brow in Light brown has become another favorite. I just recently started defining m brows & I like the way this one applies and stays on. I also love the little brush on the end of this one, it seems to be much different from other brands. I also tried the Maybelline Master Shape by EyeStudio in soft brown but the color wasn't quite right and the texture was really waxy.

Jouer Eye Clarifier is my go-to essential for red, allergy eyes. I line my bottom waterline with this nude colored liner and it instantly makes my eyes appear less red. It does not further irritate my eyes, which is nice. i keep this little pencil in my purse all the time for a quick eye brightening on the go. It is really quick and easy.

I have one more little thing to share with you all:

This is our new puppy, Chloe. She is a 5 month old Chihuahua that we got last monday :)

I hope you have a great day <3

Current loves & one regret

Hey guys :) The weather has been absolutely beautiful here! I cannot believe it is 75 degrees in March, it is usually snowing. I love it so I thought I would share my excitement with you by sharing some products I have been loving :)

My face has been extra dry and breaking out, so I thought I would try a little bit thicker night cream. This one is by the new line Simple & i am loving it! I gave a mini review in one of my earlier blogs but after using it for 2 days & already seeing a difference in my skin, I felt like I should share. My face is not as dry and my breakouts are clearing up and no more are popping up. The 2 vitamins it contains are Vitamin B which is great for restoring/softening/smoothing & Vitamin E that is very moisturizing. My favorite part is that it contains no purfumes or dyes. i can tell because the product is completely white and smells like nothing on your face. This is perfect because I have sensitive skin.

Another item I picked up for my face is the Loreal Paris Youth Code foaming gel cleanser. It smells really nice and is completely clear. I have been using the Garnier Nutriste 3 in one and it is a little harsh for everyday. This in combo with the above night cream is really clearing up my face. I am curious to try out other products from both of these brands.

This moroccan argan oil from Organix. I picked it up from WalMart for around $6. I have been putting it in my hair pretty thick before bed and it is making it silkier. It is weird to put oil right on your hair but so far it is going great and has not caused my face to break out, which is a huge plus.

This is "a cut above" by essie. I got tons of compliments from my friends with this. I have to say that it has a ton of glitter in it & covers well with only one thin coat. I got this bottle in my Birchbox & was happily suprised that it is full size! One downside, it is nearly impossible to remove, even after soaking in acetone. :(

Haul: Birchbox full sized products

Hello eveyone! I bought some full sized products from the Birchbox store so I thought I would share with you.

This is the Laura Geller bronze-n-brighten in fair. When swatched, it has a beautiful golden glowing shimmer to it. I cannot wait until I get a little tan to use this, as of right now I look ridiculous when I use bronzer because I am so pale.

Here is the Mary-Lou Manizer AKA "the luminizer" fro the Balm. I have had my eye on this for a long time now, all thanks to watching on Beauty with Kendra YouTube. It is a shimmering highlight that is perfect for cheekbones, inner eyes, and under the brows. It matches everything and is the perfect shade. I am loving it!

Jouer is one of my favorite brands and this is no exception. The eye clarifier is a light nude that you put on your waterline to make your eyes look clearer, since sometimes the waterline can get red. Mine lately has been looking red from allergies but this def made my eyes look brighter. I like how it came with a sharpener too.

I recently became a huge fan of benefit so I wanted to try this BAD gal lash mascara. I've used it 2 days in a row and so far I like it. It is not too runny or too sticky. The consistency is great. And even though the brush is pretty big, it applies well.

This is the exude lip creme in Nude. It is a light sparkly nude. It is very sheer and glittery. It goes on very smooth and looks nice. I am seriously afraid to wear lip sticks/color but this looks really nice and feels more like lip gloss. I am loving the applicator, it is a plastic dispenser that is shaped like a lip stick tube.

Here is Color Club nail polish in Peace Out Purple. It is a neon purple that goes on pretty thin but becomes super bright with the second coat. I have it on my toenails right now!

Since I spent wayy too much money in the Birchbox online store, I got something for free! Below is the amika travel hair dryer. It is only about 5 inches tall but I love it. I used it yesterday morning and it dried my hair super fast and was really nice. It also came with a travel case! I like it so much that I'm tempted to get a regular sized one!

Hope you guys enjoyed this blog. Check ot Birchbox if you are interested!

Venus & Olay Razor

Hello ladies! I have found my new favorite product!

This is the Venus & Olay Razor by gillette. It has 5 blades that I love, just like all of the other Venus razors do. However, it is paired with Olay moisture bars on the top and bottom of the razor head. These magic little bars are super flexible so they smooth over the curves of your leg. My favorite part about this razor is that it is 2 perfect prodcuts in 1 & it eliminates the need for shaving gel/cream.

Venus & olay are launching this razor in stores on March 15, 2012 wherever you purchase razors now. One replacement cartridge will cost $8.99-10.99 & 3 replacement cartridges are $14.99-19.49.

I am seriously excited for this product! I am super thankful that Influenster sent this to me to try out in my Love VoxBox. It is my new favorite & I will be repurchasing as soon as these hit the stores!

If you are still curious, check out www.gillettevenus.com.

Truvia Natural Sweetener

Hello everyone! As I test out all the cool Influenster Love VoxBox sent me, I discovered that I really like the Truvia. This new sweetener has been popping up all over the place. First in commercials about dessert, then in WalMart/grocery stores. My curosity has been fulfilled through my Love Vox Box. I decided to do a little bit of research & check out if this is good or bad for me. I know this is not beauty/clothes related, but health & wellness is just as important to me. Here is what I have found:

Truvia is an all natural sweetener that is derived from the leaf of the stevia plant. One major bonus is that it is zero calorie. I have a little sample box that has mini envelopes of Truvia, so it is extremely easy to sprinkle it into tea or on fruit. In my opinion, it tastes exactly like sugar & one little packet has the same sweetness of 2 teaspoons! I feel like whenever I use Splena I have to use about 3-4 packets for any sweetness factor. Truvia is kosher certified & is a perfect for diabetes patients to use as an alternative to sugar. It is also perfect for anyone who likes to cut back on sugar and calories. Also Truvia does not have that strange aftertaste like other sugar substitutes & since it is all natural has no harm for myths about cancer causing ingredients.

Please visit truvia.com for more info.

Sunny Saturday & Rainy Monday

Hello ladies! Since it was extra sunny here on Saturday I snapped a few pics while I was chilling out in my car.

I know that my face looks way more tan than my neck, but it didn't look like that in person..I am guessing that the sun/my phone camera make me look like I have a terrible makeup line.
In this one I have on my favorite sunglasses that I got at a Tommy Hifiger outlet last summer for $20. They seem to fit my face pretty well. Side note: I am super picky about sunglasses. They have to fit just right or I hate them. Also I don't like to spend a lot on them because i seem to always shut them up in my car door and break them or my friends sit on them. haha

I loved the super sunny weather on Saturday! I cannot wait until it is here to stay. however today being Monday,it rained all day long. So I stopped at WalMart to get a few new products to cheer me up :)

This is the Simple vital vitamin night cream. It has 2 vital vitamins, 3 skin loving nutrients, and no perfume or dyes. I picked this up because my skin has been so incredibly dry :( I have this on my face right now and I hae to say that it really doesn't have a scent. It feels very moisturizing and I'm kinda afraid that it is going to be too greasy. We will see what my skin thinks in the morning. I have been curious to try out this new line for a few weeks now.

Here is the Loreal Paris Youth Code Youth Regnerating Skincare Foaming Gel Cleanser. I know I don't need anti-aging because i am only 21..but I liked the way this looked and I love trying out new products. It makes some really nice claims on the back of the bottle too. I used it this evening and I liked it..I do not want to jump the gun and review it now before I give it a longer test time, but as of now, I like it.

The last product I picked up was the Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB cream. I got the light/medium shade. These BB creams are all the rave right now and I love the Garnier line so I thought I needed to try it out. I am so glad that it contains SPF 15 because that just cuts out one more step in my morning routine. This is going to be great to put on as I am rushing to get ready for class.

i am so excited to try out these 3 new items & I will let you know how it goes. I'm a little anxious to see how my face reacts because I have been breaking out a lot lately. We will see.

Birchbox: March, Teen Vogue edition

Hello everyone! It is my favorite time of the month again, Birchbox time! This month Birchbox gave me the option of getting a Teen Vogue version and I decided to try it out.

I came in its usual hot pink cover, but also has the Teen Vogue logo on it.

Here is the original brown Birchbox with a special pink slide on cover. (this pic and the one before it were taken in my car because I grabbed this on my way to meet a friend and opened it in my car)

Here is the card that came with that includes all the product descriptions.

This is Annick Goutal: Petite Cherie. It smells pretty good but soft. Personally, I hate getting perfume samples but maybe that is just me..

This is the essie nail polish luxe effects. It is a beautiful pink glitter. i am getting ready to put it on my toes! There is a ton of glitter which is perfect.

Shiseido: Pureness oil control blotting papers. These are made of rice powder, so they absorb the oil on your face. I think these are pretty handy to keep in my purse. I like this sample for sure!

This is my absolute favorite from this month. It is the Tarte Lipsurgence lip tint in Amused. At first I was afraid it was too darkly pigmented but if you put on a thin layer it is a really nice light pin shade. This is my first ever Tarte product and I am pumped!

This is a Twistband hair tye. They are for a snag free ponytail. This is a cute color and I wear my hair up a lot so I am sure I will be using this.

This was my lifestyle extra: $10 off of a $75 purcase from ModCloth.com it says to share it so please use this if you want to! the code is MODPROM. :)

I really enjoyed this month's Birchbox! I am curious to see what other ppl got in theirs. I definately got my $10 worth this month. I am so excited to try out these samples.

Check out Birchbox & subscribe!

OOTD: working on friday

Hello! This is my outfit of the day from Friday. It was really warm here and I was feeling pretty tired so I went extra casual. I am so lucky to have a job that allows me to wear whatever I want :)

This peacock tee is from Element, I bought it last summer from a Tilly's that I went to in New Jersey. The greenish colored tank top is from Target. I decided to go messy with my hair so I just let it air dry and then put a little gel in it and pulled back my bangs.

These jeans are from American Eagle. They are a little big but are from about a year ago. I found them in my closet on Thursday night while I was digging for something else. I had totally forgot about these jeans.

Does anyone else discover lost clothes in your closet that you haven't seen in a while and forgot about?

Razor by Venus & Olay from my VoxBox

Hello everyone! Here is another review from my Influenster Love VoxBox. I am excited to share this one with you because it is my new favorite!

This razor is by Venus & Olay. It has the classic 5 bladed Venus razor plus the strips of olay moisturizer on the top and bottom. I was so excited to try this out & I is fantastic!

These moisturizing strips are wonderful because you do not have to use shaving cream. I was skeptical at first but it really is true. The best part is that the strips on top and bottom are flexible and move with your leg so you do not cut yourself.

Venus Embrace hs been my favorite razor since it came out & i have always paired it with shaving cream. This is now my absolute favorite! it has the great razor of Venus plus Olay moisturizer that is perfect for my dry, sensitive skin. I am loving this. It is by far my favorite product from my Love VoxBox!! It retails for $8.99-10.99 depending on where you get it. I think that is absolutely worth it because all other razors (unless they are disposable) cost that much & if you get this one you do not have to get chaving cream. This is a perfect 2 in 1 product that I will be repurchasing :)

Diclaimer: I received this product to test for free through the Influenster VoxBox program.

Love VoxBox: Tea

Good Evening ladies :) Monday I shared my Influenster Love VoxBox with you. Here is a reveiw on one of the items I received.

This is the Stash Herbal Tea. I got this box that has 18 tea bags in it! I had no clue I would get such generous sizes :) Normally I am not a big herbal tea fan, but I thought I should give this a try.

These are all of the flavors included. There are 2 of each one.

Here is my cup of tea. I chose to try the Wild Raspberry Hibiscus flavor first. Look at that hot pink color! It was so pretty and tasted good.

I also added this Truvia to my tea. It is a natural, zero-calorie sweetener. It tastes exactly like sugar and only took one packet to make my tea super sweet.

The Stash tea and Truvia sweetener made a great combo :)

Summer eyeshadow review

Hi everyone, hope you're having a wonderful day out there. It is 65 degrees here today which is wonderful for this time of year! I thought I would do a little review for you all. As I shared before I recently won a giveaway from Budget Friendly on Youtube. This is just one of the eyeshadows she sent me.

Here is the mini palette from AZIZA. I had never heard of this brand before. When I very first saw these I thought of sidewalk chalk. They are bright, summertime shades that will go great with all of the neons I have been seeing in clothes stores lately.

This is my pitiful attempt at swatching the colors. I have incredibly pale skin and these are pretty light eyeshadows. The blue and the peach shades show up the best. I know you cannot really see these but in person they look like a washed out version of what they look like in their pans. Very summery and bright. As soon as I get tanned I will have an eye look ready for you guys :) I can't wait to wear these this summer!

Influenster: Love VoxBox

Hello everyone. I opened my mailbox this afternoon & behold...a box! I recently signed up to be a part of a fantastic program through Influenster since I am a blogger/tweeter & use facebook/Pinterest, etc. Basically I social network & share all of my opinions with you guys on which products I love or hate. I am so excited to share this little box with you!

This is the Love VoxBox. It looks pretty small to be housing so many great suprises!

This is the description card that explains to me all of the items I have been chosen to test out. It includes how much each product costs & a little bit about it.

Here are all of the items I received. I absolutely love the Venus Embrace so I am excited to try out the Olay version because it has moisturizing abilities around the 5 blades! The Kiss Nail Dress are stick-on nail polish in leopard print! Let me just share that leopard print is my favorite! I also noticed that there are stickers that are big enough to fit on my toenails so that gives a little more flexability with this product. The Stash Herbal Tea Sampler includes 18 pouches in 9 different flavors! I love tea & coffee so I will be trying these very soon. Ghirardelli chocolate in milk chocolate is the best. So smooth and yummy, who doesn't love chocolate?? & last but not least: the Truvia sample pack. I have never tried this before but I am anxious to. It is a zero calorie alternative & perfect to go into the Herbal Tea!

I may sound over-excited in this blog, but it's only because I am. I love trying new things & then sharing them with you. I am amazed by the great brand names in this box. There is not one item that I am disappointed to try. Thank you so much Influenster!
