Hello ladies :) Today when I got home from class there was a package waiting for me in the mailbox! It was from budget friendly on youtube. She hosted a giveaway & I was the winner! YAY!

This is the envelope mailer it came in.

Here are my prizes. Some of these brands are my favorites like Maybelline, Covergirl, and elf. Others are brand new to me and I am excited to try them out. As soon as I try them and form an opinion I will do a little review.

Wet & Wild Eye Look

Hi everyone! Here is the eyeshadow that I wore to work today. This is the first time I have used these 2 palettes I bought. The look is pretty smoky.

This is the palette Petal Pusher from Wet & Wild. I bought it at CVS. My favorite color out of this one is the definer on the bottom left :) It is a pretty purply blue.

This is the palette Silent Treatment from Wet & Wild. I got it at CVS as well. I love the eyelid and browbone colors but the crease color is just black and is a little too harsh on me.

I made this eye with the 2 of these palattes combined. It is much darker in person. It is a combo of a purple/blue/pink. I need to get a better camera, I have been using my phone haha. please excuse my hair (what little you can see). It is a mess because I had clinicals at the hospital all day & my hair had to be up in a bun.

Hope you guys have a great day :)

Bath & Body Works Haul :)

Hello ladies :) This evening before I went to work I decided to go to Bath & Body Works. I got a few things but did not go crazy. It was hard for me not to buy a ton of stuff.

From Left: Coconut Lime Breeze, this is a creme body wash. I had never seen this scent or this formula before. I am excited to try it out. Coconut Lime Verbena antibacterial foaming hand soap: I love this scent and the soap. Sleep: lavender vanilla hand lotion is a part of the aroma therapy line. It has a calm and yummy smell. True Blue mini walnut shell smoothing foot scrub, I love anything for my feet because Im on them all the time so they get tired and dry. The last item is the Scent Portables in Vanilla Orchid, it smells pretty good but I just wanted the leopard case :) I love these and always keep them in my car. I currently have a pink snowflake one but it had an accident and i broke it. I also have a green peace sign but it is missing. Needless to say, I am excited for my car to smell good again!

What are your favorite scents/products from Bath & Body Works?

Almay eye products :)

Hello everyone :) When I went to CVS last week I picked up some Almay items. I had never used Almay before so i was pretty anxious to use these. Here ya go:

This is the Almay intense i-color powder shadow in 401 smoky-i for browns. Is the eyelash packaging not the cutest thing ever? :)

This is a better pic of the colors without the lid. The base is a classic medium brown, the crease color is a pinkish purple shade, and the highlight is a very typical cream. All 3 are shimmer. When I first saw this I thought, here is another run of the mill boring tricolor quad. The colors for brown eyes are always boring.

This is the payoff :) I realize that it is fuzzy and the lighting is weird, but i took this at work. They colors are very deep. I was not expecting such dark pugmenting, but I really like it.

/This is with eyes open. Once again, not a great pic but I think these colors make my eyes pop.

This is the Almay intense i-color satin-i kit powder shadow in 411 trio for browns.

Purple is one of my favorite colors and i love it in combo with my brown eyes so this one was destined for me, or so I thought.

The colors were so light that I had to layer it a lot. The payoff was minimal. i have much better purples in my collection already. :( this one was a huge disappointment.

Here it is with my eyes open. You can barely even tell I am wearing eyeshadow. I am pretty pale, i cannot imagine this showing up at all if I had a tan.

This is the Almay one coat nourishing mascara triple effect. I absolutely love this! Mascara is my all time favorite makeup anyway, but this one is my new favorite overall! :)

My total thoughts for Almay: thumbs up :) I think that for only buying 3 tiems and loving 2 of them is a pretty good indication that I will be buying more of their line.

Review of Radiant You skincare cleanser

Good afternoon! I recently purchased the Glam on the Go box through Birchbox. I posted a blog about a week ago of the overall contents. I am really enjoying abot 90% of the products :) Here is a review of the Dr. Hauschka skincare Radiant You Cleasing for Normal/Dry skin.
This is the travel size. It is a fairly small box but inside is the Lavender Bath, Cleasing Cream, and Toner.

The front of the box flaps open like a little book to reveal directions on how to use the product. Personally, I wish everything came with elaborate instructions :) You can read them for yourself but basically I just filled up the sink with really warm water (but not hot so I didn't burn my face) and dropped in about 3 drops of the lavender bath. Let me just tell you that it smelled wonderful. I usually don't like lavender that much but this smelled so great. I saturated a clean washcloth into the sink and held it on my face. This first step was my favorite, so relaxing and smelled nice. Then I squeezed out some of the Cleansing Cream into my palm & mixed it with some of the water left in the sink. let me just say that the 1/2 inch they suggest is NOT enough! (maybe I have a big face haha) I patted the mixture onto my face and neck. It felt soft and gritty. I then wiped it off with the washcloth dipped in the water in the sink. I was semi exfoliating but in an extremely gentle way. Then i patted my face dry with a towel and pressed the toner onto my face and neck.

I was nervous about using the toner on my entire face but my face felt great afterwards. it was very cleansing and soothing. My face still feels good today so I didn't have any crazy breakouts from it. I already had a little bit of a break out on my chin but this product did not worsen or help it.

So there you go. I liked this one. It was very soothing and spa-like. I usually don't do anything fancy in the face washing routine. I just use Garnier Fructise 3 in one in the shower.

Review of Physician's Formula eyeshadow

Hello ladies! Friday I shared with you one little picture of the items I picked up from CVS & I promised a review once I used them. let me just say that so far, so good.

This is the Physician's Formula eyeshadow I picked up. It is a partof there Baked Collection. It is a Wet/Dry Eye Shadow in Baked Oatmeal. At first glance & first swatch I wasnt sure about this. Since I have brown eyes & brownish hair, I don't feel the need to add a ton more brown to my face so I do not get excited over nuetrals. However, these looked so nice that I had to try them.

At first application this morning I felt like I really had to scrub the little foam applicator across the shadow to get any payoff but as soon as I started blending them on my eyelid, I liked them. They are a smooth consistency. Also they hve just the right amount of shimmer to glide across your lid and blend perfectly. This is a dry application, I am pretty anxious to see a wet application of these. Keep in mind that this pic was taken this afternoon after 8 hours of classtime so I think they last pretty well. I did use Urban Decay primer potion because I hate creasing and was paranoid about these creasing or fading. They faded a little bit, but not bad at all.

More to come soon on the rest of the items I picked up :)

OOTD: Casual for Work

Hello everyone :) Today I worked all day so I wanted something comfortable but semi cute. Here is what I wore:

I got this purple sweater at GAP last winter. The black tee is Victoria's Secret Pink and my jeans are American Eagle skinnies.

These are the same Steve Madden shoes I wore yesterday. I am absolutely loving them! I apologize for the nasty carpet in this pic, I took this while I was at work.

Since I sell shoes, i try not to show up to work in just a tee and a hoodie, which is hard on Friday evening and Sunday when I work. Instead of a hoodie, I have been throwing on a sweater that is just as comfortable but looks a little nicer.

OOTD: Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! (a little bit late) Since I was sick this past week, we could not celebrate til this weekend. So here is what I am wearing.

This shirt is from Hollister. I actually bought it right befoe Christmas. This pic is not picking up the true color. It is bright crayon red! perfect for V-Day. I am wearing it with dark wash skinny jeans from American Eagle. Also I did a neutral eye with my Naked palette and used a lot of highlight on my cheeks and nose to catch the light.

I bought these last night while I was working. They are Steve Maddens, which is one of my favorite shoe brands. The are a beautiful blush nude color and have little bunches on the side so they look like they could be folded up. & they were only $40 before my discount :)

We don't go crazy on Valentine's Day. It is pretty low key for us so I baked him a strawberry cake complete with heart sprinkles. We will probably just relax in front of the tv for a while and then go out to dinner.

CVS shopping trip

Today I just happened to be in a part of town I am not usually in so I stopped at CVS! It is oiut of my way normally so I havent been there in years. Everyone is always excited about their makeup section so I went a little crazy on stuff I really didn't need. I would've gotten more but a lot of the eyeshadows and bronzers I was looking at were all busted up. Also CVS has way higher prices than everyone else in my area. This is the damage:

Since I decided I was going to do Project 10 pan, I did not buy any makeup or beauty products for all of january..However I got through everything I wanted to soooo I have been shopping like crazy. :)

Birchbox: Glam on the Go!

Hello everyone! I got my full sized order from Birchbox! Yesteda I went to school from 8-3 and then went to my sister's house with my mom to help stain woodwork for the house she is building. This means we got home a little after 9 & apparently forgot to check the mail. Mom got it this morning and when I got up my full sized order from Birchbox was on the table! yay :)
This is the Glam on the Go birchbox that is premade in a kit. I have had my eye on it for a while. It was $48 originally but I cashed in some Birchbox points.

This is the box it came in. It is longer and much deeper than the regular monthly birchbox. Also the logo on top was silver. Very cute.

Here are the contents: Benefit Finding Mr. Bright, Radiant You skin brightening system, gold fold up flats with little bag to carry them in, ORIBE texturizing spray, BOOST, mini Jouer lip gloss in Birchbox pink, and the new Birchbox makeup bag.

will let you know what I think as soon as I start using these products. It is all I can do not to spend an emormous amount on all of the Birchbox full sized items. I am holding out til I rack up some more points.

Preveiw: mini Target haul

Hello ladies! Today I went to Target to pick up a few random items and....I got sucked into the make up isles. The damage was pretty small, considering I havent bought any makeup for a while. Here is a pic or mini preview if you will.

I picked up the Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara because everyone is always raving about this and I am a sucker for mascara. I also got Almay triple effect mascara. I do not have any Almay products so I thought I would try a basic mascara and if I like it, I will pick up some other items from this brand. My Target finally had the Maybelline Bouncy blush in fresh pink, which I have been looking for for a little over a month now. My first impression is not all that great but I am still intrigued. I also got the CoverGirl eyeshadow quad in Drama Eyes because I liked the basic glam shades and thought they would make a good smoky eye look. Once I use these I will share my thoughts. :)

Birchbox: February 2012

Hello everyone! I have been super sick and done nothing since last week. by nothing I mean even laying on the couch watching tv was too exhausting to me. None the less, I was super excited when my Birchbox came today! \

This month's theme was Spotlight. It goes on to talk about how you shoould focus on yourself and to "highlight your awesomeness."

Here are the contents on my box & my first reaction:

This is the G-1 Mosturizing Face Cream. It is French and has a very classically chic packaging. It is extra tiny, only 0.1oz and smells really good in a medicinal berry scent. I'll let you know how it works on my face once I've used it.

colorscience pro: glow and go Travel Puff. I got the shade All Even (Medium Tone Pale). insde that little white plastic cover is a classic powder puff. It has powder inside of it. the packaging states that you can reuse it until it is empty and then wash the puff and continue using it in another product.. Nothing like reduce, reuse, recylcle! When I opened it: It is attached to the little plastic covering so I dk how you are supposed to store it until you reuse because the back cover ripped off..interesting. The product is pretty lightweight and is the perfect color for me. It is very luminous, but in a pretty slightly shimmery way. I think I'm gonna like this one.

Eye Rock Designer Liner: these are liner strips that you stick on your eyes...at first i was like sweet, these are gonna be a blast and then I opened them. Needless to say my excitement wore off pretty quick. They are huge. As in, about 2-2.5 inches each. Sorry, but I dont have huge eyes. I might try to cut them or something..They look like little temporary tattoos which is kind of exciting. This product has so much potential, but oersonally I am not trying to look like Lady Gaga with gargantuan eye liner..

LA Fresh Eco-Beauty Waterproof Makeup Remover. I love that these are 100% biodegradable and alcohol free. They are made specially for eyes and lips so I'm assuming they are going to be good for stubborn makeup on my sensitive skin. Also I am pumped that birchbox sent me 2!

These are my extras. The pink heart is a nail file, which is pretty cute in response to Valentine's Day. The post card is for free music downloads from Green River Ordinance. I'll let you know what I think when I listen to them because i have never heard of them before.

So that's it. This is the first month that I've only received 4 samples, I always get 5. I am pretty happy though, except for the eyeliner stick ons. I feel like this month doesn't haveas much product overall as all of my other boxes. Oh well, maybe better luck next month, and who knows maybe I will absolutely love some of these.

What did you get in your Birchbox?

7 Deadly Beauty Sins

Hello everyone! I saw this on YouTube as a tagged video that was going around and thought, why not join in?

GREED - What is your most inexpensive beauty product? What is your most expensive?
inexpensive= anything elf, you can get really nice shadows for $1-3 along with brushes, cleansers, nail, and face products. My most expensive is def the Naked palette. It was my most recent splurge.

WRATH - What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What has been hardest to find?
love/hate= lipstick ecause I can never find the right shades. I always look like i'm trying too hard when i use lipstick. I am on a mission to correct that. Any suggestions?? Another love/hate is eyeliner. I wear contacts and have super sensitive eyes, so I feel like a lot of eyeliners irritate my eyes. There are some brands I just cannot use and others that smudge or wear off too fast. hardest product to find is seriously EVERYTHING for me! I live in West Virginia and my mall is extra tiny and there are no boutiques around. I have no Sephora, no Ulta, etc..so I order everything online. Target is about the only place around I have to buy maekup which is a good place but we have no high end stores. We used to have a Trade Secret where I could buy nail polish and hair products but it no longer exists. We do have a Sally Beauty but it is tiny and mostly just has hair color.

GLUTTONY - What are your most delicious beauty products?
I wanna say body wash..i love using a variety of yummy smells. right now there are about 5 different body washes in my shower because I like to use a different one every day.  I also have some yummy scented and flavored lip products.

SLOTH - What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?
hmm..i used to neglect washing my face every night but i have been very good about that lately. lately I have been neglecting my eyebrows because my time is extra limited and that takes a little while to do.

PRIDE - What beauty product gives you more confidence?
Mascara. i love the way it makes my long lashes look so perfect!

LUST - What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
personality is a must! i like funny guys and also I like eyes.

ENVY - What item would you most like to receive as a gift?
spa day, tanning package because i dont like to spend money on that...or honestly just a variety of someone else's favorites to see what they like. \

Hope you enjoyed this. :)

OOTD: business casual

Hello ladies! Yesterday I had to go to a nursing meeting in Charleston, WV with my class. It took about 2 hrs to get down there so to be on time we had to leave at 5:45..which means I got up at 4:30. I am not a morning person but here is my outfit of the day :)

Here is my business casual: sweater from Wet Seal, shirt from JC Penney, and black pants from Kohls. I also had on some cute shoes, they are Mia flats that have pointed toes and are silver. Very pretty, but at this extra early hr I forgot to snap a pic.

I used my Maybelline eyeshadow tattoo in Tough as Toupe, Stila eyeshadow in kitten. For the inner corner of my leg and under my brow bone I used the Too Cool shade of Maybelline tattoo. In person it was very rich and colorfyl with a nice shimmer on top.

Since I was up so early, I went to Starbucks and got a white chocolate mocha. Check out the super cute cup <3

A few of my faves right now

Hello Ladies! Here are some products I have been using the past few weeks and am seriously loving right now. :) Hope you find some new favorites from mine and share with me some of yours.

Ths is the fresh Sugar Plum lip balm. It is a tinted lip product that glides on in a slightly berry shade. It is subtle color with smoothing abilities. I absolutely love it. I got it in the fresh Glam & Go set that I ordered from Sephora.

Here is the Jouer lip enhancer. It goes on as a slick, clear gloss and conditions my lips. I got a sample size from Birchbox and ended ip loving  it so much that I bought the full size. It cost $14 from Birchbox but I spent $10 worth of Birchbox points on it, so i got itfor $4. :) Score!

Here are 2 samples from my January Birchbox. These are my 2 faves from last month's box. the orange tube is BORGHESE moisture intensifier. It is seriously the best thing ever! It has a very mild clean scent. To use: basically just put it on your clean face first, before your other moistureizer to intensify its effects. I makes my skin smooth and hydrated. So great, but its $70 for a little bottle on Birchbox. This means i will not be purchasing a full size, even though I love it. I cannot justify that price. The round, glass mini jar is Jouer Body Butter. It is a thick cream that I use on my elbows and rough skin before i go to bed. It is smooth and very moisturizing. However, it smells so strongly of Gardenia that I don't like it. Gardenia, to me, is an old lady scent. When my grandma was alive, it was her absolute favorite so it brings back great memories. however, I do not want to smell like an old woman. So I am enjoying the effects of the body butter and praying that Jouer makes different scents because I love love love this brand.

So there you have it, I shared a few things I have tried lately and enjoyed, but i'm not going to let you go until I share one more thing...My only dislike.

Here is the Supernova mascara from my fresh Glam & Go set. It is such a cute little sample size with pretty swirls...and I hate it. At first it went on great and I loved the structure of the brush. It did not irritate my sensitive eyes, but....I had serious raccoon eyes all day. I did not touch my eyes, but somehow my the time I got home from class my dark raccoon fall out from this mascara was so bad that my mom made a comment on it, which means it was exremely bad. So bad in fact that I never want to use it again, good thing everything else in that kit was perfect or else i would be upset..

Goodbye for now :)

This vs. That: spot treatment

Hello everyone! How's it going. Lately I have been breaking out :( I have been blaming winter skin and stress, but who knows why. Here is my mini review of 2 products made for spot treatment.

The first product I tried was the blue pen-looking one. It is Clean & Clear advantage: popped pimple relief. Let's face it, sometimes I can't stop touching a breakout and it pops, gross but true. So I thought this would be perfect. I used it morning and night and my blemishes kept getting more red and inflammed by the hour. They were getting sore and bigger and terrible looking. After about 4 days, I bought the silver tube of Clean & Clear advantage: Acne spot treatment. I used it one night before going to bed and my  blemishes looked smaller and less red by morning. After 2 days of using this morning and night my breakouts are almost cleared up. :) i am so relieved and will not be using the blue pen again, it is silver tube all the way. It is amazing how both products are from the same brand and line and yet have such different outcomes.

Springtime scarf :)

Hello everyone! Spring is jsut around the corner and I am so excited to see all of the bright and happy colors that are being launched into the new spring clothes collections :) Here is my outfit of the day that I wore to class.

This is my new scarf and carigan that I bought from GAP about a week ago. They are both from the new spring line. I jsut paired them with basic tight white tee and skinny jeans. The carigan is lightweight but perfectly warm. The scarf is a super soft cotton and Has flecks of blue through it that the camera did not pick up. So far I am loving both of these pieces.

These are my UGG triple bailey buttons in chestnut. These were the first uggs I ever bought a little over a year and a half ago. They are super comfy but to be honest, they feel way more bulky on my feet than all my other ones. Also, the top is curling down to expose the fur and that drives my crazy.

So for now i am going to go grocery shopping with my mom and hopefully I will be on here blogging away later on this evening. :)

i've missed you

Hello Ladies! soo sorry that I have not been blogging lately. Nursing school is taking over my life! I have no free time at all so here are a few little updates..

I got my hair cut with highlights & low lights. It is kind of hard to tell in this pic but my colors are now ranging from dark brown to bleached. I totally forgot I even made a hair appointment until I had a voicemail from JC Penney salon..So last Saturday afternoon I went in and said a few little things to my hair dresser and she made my hair look great! It's like she knows exactly what I want, even when I cannot describe it! haha.. Anyway, what do you think?

Also I have been using up products right and left. I feel pretty successful in project ten pan & i totally just ordered myself something cool from birchbox. I promise to to a haul when the box comes plus when I get my regular birchbox.

I feel a trip to Bath & Body Works in my near future. I am loving their antibacterial handsoap right now and I plan on stocking up. Plus I want a couple new candles. Any good wintery scents i should pick up? I think I am also going to do a little clothes shopping. I want some new shirts and now is the time that stores are cranking out new lines of beautiful spring colors.

I plan on doing an OOTD for you all tomorrow, since it's been a while.

It has happened.. I have a bad case of winter skin. I have been moisturizing religiously, but no matter what I do , my skin is starting to freak out. My face is breaking out, my legs are razor burnt, and the back of my arms are bumpy and itchy. I think there is only one solution...I am going to start going to the tanning bed again. I know, I know, It is terrible for you. however, my skin is always clear and smooth when I tan. Plus I get a surge of energy from all the extra UV and Vitamin D. looove it. So possibly tomorrow on that too.

I promise I will be blogging more in the next few days. Hang in there, its almost springtime :)
