10 pan success ;)

Hello girls :) Today has not been very productive so I thought I would blog a little. Here are some of more of my successes of 10 pan..
This is the Garnier Fructis fortifying Shampoo + Consitioner. I like the way this smells but the 2-in-1 formula is not my favorite. I have sort of crazy hair so there is not quite enough conditioner. It was good to get this used up though, be cause who knows how long it has been under my bathroom sink.

This is the Paul Mitchell super skinny smoothing conditioner. At one point I had the shampoo and conditioner but I believe mom used the shampoo a while back. Since the above shampoo did not have enough conditioner I just use this afterward. It is def smoothing and I like the smell. This is strange....as you can see the black lettering has faded off. There are small black flecks all over the bottle and lid so your hands become covered with those little flecks. I'm guessing its because my bottle is on the older side.

This is the Kate Somerville Cytocell Dark Circle corrector. I got it as a free sample when I ordered from Sephora. There was a lot of product in this little pouch so I used it for about 3 days, morning and night. It had virtually no smell which was good and also felt nice. However, I saw absolutely no results, which was more than a little disappointing. It was just a free sample though, right??

Let me just say that I am absolutely loving project 10 pan. My skin is moisturized and my bathroom is more organized! That is success ;)

OOTD: classroom

Hello everyone. Today was just a class day for me so I went pretty casual but cute. I look a little messed up because I took this pic when I got home at 3:00. I got ready this AM at about 6:30 so after a a looong day in the classroom, I was ready for a few touchups. LOL
The black tee is from Forever 21 and I like the little silver beads that are strung along the neckline. Sweater is Merona from Target and I looove the ruffle around the edge. It just gives it something extra, not to mention that I love turquoise. Today I have on the AE Artist jeans.

Side note: I washed a couple makeup brushes last night so they are laying out on that purple towel. My massive comb and chi straightener are also laying out because I was running behind this morning. LOL

Funny story: This tee was originally oversized. It had the too big arm holes and felt boxy and comforable. After my mom washed it once.........it is tight and extremely fitted. It is only slightly loose around my ribs. Awkward.

I apologise for looking like a hot mess in this pic. Life is crazy and I have not been sleeping well. Therefore I have huuuge undereye circles. Also I used the Mythic Oil that I received in my January birchbox. The first time I used it, I thought it was great. However, as you can see today I have tangled hair with flyaways. :( not what I was hoping for after painstakingly straightening my hair today.

Hoped you enjoyed my OOTD, even though I have crazy mssy hair and my makeup is almost gone :) Ill try to look better another day.

Beauty Favorites of 2011: eyeshadow

Hello everyone! Sorry this has taken me soo long, but here are my favorite eyeshadows of 2011. I went through and had about 1 million, but I thinned them out to the few that I use constantly.
From top left: elf: Magical Maroon & Golden Godess, Wet n Wild Vanity palette, elf Day 2 Night, and Rimmel Beauty Spells. I love the elf day 2 night quad, it has a beautiful taupe and maroon color. The elf pots at the top of this pic are nice too, very pigmented gold and pinkish. The Rimmel quad has a nice mauve neutral that I use all over my lid, a silver for highlight, and a charcoal for lining. I find myself reaching for all of these constantly.

Both From Victoria's Secret. From left: Shimmer Lights eye kit & Ravishing quad.

This is the inside of both. i usually blend the 2 together. They mix well. I absolutely love both of these. I think purple goes great with my brown eyes.

This is the Stila Daydream Palette. I got it for Christmas and apparently it was a Christmas exclusive because it is nowhere to be found now. I absolutely looove it and my favorite shade is kitten, which is right in the middle.

I have what seems to be like millions of eyeshadows. It was hard to pick my favorites, so I jsut grabbed the ones that I am always reaching for and match all of my clothes. What are you favorites??

OOTD: rain

Hey girls. This is what I wore to school today because when I got up it was pouring the rain down so I knew it was hopeless to fix my hair and wear something dressy. It ended up being 65 degrees today, which is completely unheard of for WV January! I am excited.

This is a Victoria's Secret Pink hoodie and tee. My jeans are from AE. I look soo sleepy in this pic because I did not want to get out of bed this morning.

These are my absolute favorite Uggs. The tall classic grey. They go with everything & make my feet feel great :)

OOTD: weekend

Hello everyone!! This was my outfit of the day for Saturday. I hung out with my boyfriend & his parents so I wanted something comfortable and cute.

This sweater is from Forever 21. I absolutely looove the ruffles and the bright purple.

This studded bracelet is also from Forever 21. I received it for Christmas.

Project 10 pan success

Hello ladies! I thought I would share a few of my successes from project 10 pan with you and let you know what I thought about them.

From Left: #1 Clean & Clear morning burst. I was a little harsh for my face...but I read in a magazine that you can use face scrub on your feet so I tried it out with this one and it really did help out with my slighty cracked heels. #2 Befine Gentle Cleanser was from my birchbox. It smelled like mint & chlorine to me, and was the consistency of water. It was nice on my face but I will probably not repurchase because the watery thinness was impossible to use in the shower without it slipping through my fingers. #3 Is the Pangea Organics face scrub and it was also from my birchbox. It smells amazing! and was pretty good in consistency & was gentle on my face which was nice.

The AHAVA mineral foot cream was really nice. It was rich & smooth without feeling greasy on my feet. It had a slight old woman smell but it wasn't too strong. I am actually sad to see this one be used up but it is pretty pricey. The only reason I had it was from birchbox. #2 was supersmile whitening toothpaste in cinnamon. It was a thin paste but when I burshed my teeth I could see my slight coffee stains run down the sink. I am not a big cinnamon fan, but once I used the entire tube I didn't mind it.

This is the SUPER bright eyed melon eye cream sample that I recieved from Sephora yesterday. I used it last night & have to admit that it smelled great enough to eat! it also made the puffiness around my eyes go away but it was back by this morning.

It is seriously great to go through all these samples and use them up. It is exciting to try the new ones and as I finish up the older ones I feel like I accomplished something. My bathroom is already feeling more spacious. These mini bottles take up more space than you would think!

OOTD: no school, all work

Hey, since I had the day off from school I had splenty of time to get ready for work. Here it is:

This leopard shirt is from Forever 21 & I just have an oatmeal colored tank from Target on under it because I am obsessed with layering. My jeans are from American Eagle, as always. I have on a leopard bracelet from Buckle. My hair was originally down but was going frizz crazy so I pulled it up.
I absolutely love these boots. They are black, suede Steve Maddens. I bought them from Journey's. They can be dress or casual and are extremely comfortable. On a side note: buy them a half size big, because I always wear 7 1/2 but had to get an 8 in these.
I obviously used the Naked palette today to create a neutral eye, since it came in the mail today.
Here is a closed eye veiw..Please excuse my crazy eyebrows :)

Sephora mini haul!

Hello! Today I was getting ready to put on my makeup & the doorbell rang..So, I went to the door & there was a box waiting for me! (apparently our mailman was too scared to hand it over haha) As soon as I saw that it was from Sephora I was excited. Sometimes I get really excited for a box and it is something random that my mom ordered. So here are the contents :)
Are you as excited as I am?!? I ordered the Naked Palette, Fresh: Sugar Plum Glam & Go. i also got a free Phylosophy bottle of amazing grace. And my samples were: fresh soy face cleanser, SUPER bright eyed flawless eye cream, Kate Somerville Cytocell: dark circle corrective eye cream.
This is the fresh Sugar Plum Glam & Go set. It contains the mascara (which I used today & loved), Twilight freshface glow primer, Sugar Plum lip product (tastes great & has a gorgeous sheer color), and Soy Face Cleanser.
I finally caved in...& I bought the Naked Palette! It is beautiful! The colors are great, the textures are wonderful. I am in love. I am not going to swatch it, simply because everyone either owns it or has seen it swatched one thousand times.

On a side note: I had a snow day today so I got to sleep in and relax instead of going to school. I'm tired anyway because I worked the closing shift at Journeys and sold a ton of shoes.

Project 10 Pan so far..

Hello everyone! So far project 10 pan is going great. I am finishing up products after only 3 days! I have been using an incredible amount of lotion, so my skin is no longer dry and wintery. Also i'm realizing which brands & scents I like and which ones I would like to avoid in the future. I have extremely sensitive skin so it's important not to use something that makes me break out.

this is the Shea it isn't So from Bath and Body Works. it is from the True Blue Spa line and is for your feet. It is very rich and moisturizing but I never finished it up because it smells pretty strong in that weird chemical/medicinal way. However, I finished it!
The first one is just Vaseline lotion. I originally bought it because I have crazy dry skin and I thought something plain might be better...it's not. LOL Anyway, I used the end and it was fine, just boring. The second one in this pic is Bath and Body Works Shea Cashmere Hand Cream in Secret Wonderland. Funny story with this one...last winter I went to BBW and liked this scent so I bought the shower gel, body mist, body lotion, and hand creme. After wearing it about a month my boyfriend fessed up and said it smelled like old lady/craft store. :( So..i gave it to a friend and I ended up with just the hand creme. I have been using it before bed and I'm actually growing to hate the smell too, but I really like the thickness of this formula. It is gone and maybe in the future I will buy a different scent in the Cashmere Hand Cream.

P.S. I am soo close to also finishing a tube of Blistex that has been floating around my purse forever.

OOTD: day off

Hello everyone! I had today off from school since it was MLK jr. day. I was hoping to just lay around the house but I ended up running some errands and then my mom & I took our great aunt out for her 86th birthday. Here is what I wore:

My shirt is from kohl's & sweater from Wet Seal. My jeans from American Eagle, as always.
This is a close up of my shirt design. The background is black & the floral print is a mixture of different hues of purple & turquoise, which are 2 of my fave colors.
This bracelet is from PACSUN. it is one huge spiral so it doesn't jingle on my wrist. Also I want to share that it gets tighter & tighter as I wear it so i have to keep unspiraling it from my wrist.
Here is a close-up of the Stila eyeliner in peacock that i received in my birchbox. I still haven't formed an opinion on this. any comments? i also apologize that my lashes are extra clumpy. My kitten was trying to help me with my makeup today & I couldnt spend as much time on my lashes as they needed. LOL. I also have on a couple shades from the Stila daydream palette & my highlight shade is Maybelline Color Tattoo in too Cool.
My hair looks crazy today as a result of project 10 pan. This is the Herbal Essence Totally Twisted gel & I am trying to use it up. all i did was put a little of this into my damp hair and blow it dry on low heat. Throughout the day my hair got much bigger & frizzier. i will be relieved when this is all used up! in the pic is also the Stila eyeliner.

Project 10 Pan :)

Hello! As the new year rolls around, everyone makes new year's resolutions..I dont get that excited to make promises to myself that I know I'll never keep. LOL Anyway, this year I decided that my resolution was to use all my random beauty products I have sitting around. When I saw the idea of 10 Pan, I knew that's what I needed to do. It consists of picking all the older products you have sitting around and using them up! the catch is that you canot buy yourself any more of those products until the old ones are used up! I like to try new products and even though I find one I like I go ahead and buy different ones to keep trying out. This means that I have about 30 bottles of lotions/perfumes/body washes stock piled in my bathroom and room. My goal is to use them up before I buy any more! I also do this with eyeshadows/nail polishes/etc but I use them up easier than full sized bottles of lotion in a scent I don't love. I also have a couple of random hair products that Im not impressed with but I am forcing myself to finish them. Some products I went through and decided to throw them away because they were discolored, smelled old, or made me break out. Other ones that I absolutely did not like I gave to my mom. Everything that was left over is gettng used up! this includes all he travel/sample sizes I have from my birchbox. I love trying new things but I cannot commit to one product long enough to finish it. That is all going to change! What this means is that right now there are about 5 body washes and 10 mini face washes in my shower that I need to use up. Im anxious to finish them and figure out which ones I actually like and will repurchase. I am not letting myself buy anymore until they are all used up! This is going to be a huge challenge but I think it will also be a great way to save money on items I dont need.

I encourage everyone to do this with me! <3

internet shopping

Hello! I cannot sleep tonight, so I'm doing the next best thing: internet surfing. I generally like to read blogs/watch youtube videos in my non sleeping hours but for some reason I'm restless tonight so I did some internet shopping..it was probably a terrible idea because i just spent wayy too much money at Sephora.com. oh well :) i havent bought myself anything lately so i splurged. I think you will agree it was a great decision as soon as you see what comes in my package! i am now going to stalk the mailman in hopes that my package gets here quickly! (just kidding) I love to shop online because I live in West Virginia and we have no where good to shop. however, i am super impatient and am ready to explode by the time my package arrives. haha. I seriously need that instant gratification of holding the shopping bag in my hand apparently. I am like a kid in Christmas morning whenever my box arrives, though. My mom loves to watch me open my birchbox every month because she says that I get way too excited over tiny sized bottles of stuff i'll never use. LOL it is funny but the littlest things make my crazy life seem a little bit brighter. <3 goodnight everyone

Birchbox January 2012

Hello! I went to the mailbox today and low & behold..my birchbox was in there! I get so excited every month to see that little pink box. The theme this month was Clarity. I think that is pretty clever for the new year, since everyone is trying to make themselves better through resolutions. Here are the contents of my box:

BORGHESE: CuraForte Moisture Intensifier. This is suppposed to be applied to your face before you use your moisturizer or mixed with your misturizer. it extends you facial moisturizer's power by activating. I haven't used this yet, but I'm excited to try it because my face has been dry and breaking out lately.
Juicy Couture: Viva La Juicy. I am not a huge fan of this, but it smells ok. I am tired of birchbo including perfume samples because I like to use my key scents..
Jouer: Body Butter. this is for rough patches of skin like elbows. It contains shea butter, olive oil, and avocado oil. This is my favorite brand from Birchbox. I am looking forward to this because I have winter skin and it smells nice.
stila: Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner: I love stila and this a pretty jewel-tone called "peacock". I like turquoise so I think I will use it. Im glad it is a full sized product because these run for $20. I looked on birchbox.com and i really want to get the purple one too.
This is the Birchbox emblem on a magnet. I think it's cute but sort-of useless. I think it is cool they add little perks like this.

My Lifestyle Extra: LARABAR: mini bar in Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip. I already ate this. It had a fruity/nutty and natural taste but was actually very good. I have been wanting to try these but I find it odd that it came in birchbox since this is a beauty sample program.

in the bottom of my box was a postcard that gives you tips on how to "detox" your new year. it was kind of cute s I hung it up with my magnet. haha.

Let me know what you got in your box!

Maybelline Color Tattoo

Hello! I have been on a scavenger hunt for the Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows for a couple weeks now. & I finally found them at Walmart. Maybelline is my absolute favorite drug store makeup brand. I only picked up 3 of them since they were about $5.40 apiece, but I am going to have to go back for more because i love them!
These are the 3 I bought: Tough as Taupe, Pomegranate Punk, and Too Cool.
They are so pigmented and blend together well with your fingers or a brush.
These are the switches on my hand in very dim lighting and they still show up great!

I seriously love these and am going to have to go get some more colors. There is a turquoise one that I have my eye on. :)

Mini Walgreen's Haul

Hello everyone! I don't know about you, but my skin is miserable in the winter. My face has been dry, dull, and breaking out lately so I thought I would try a couple new products.
The product on the left is Aveeno positively radiant tinted moisturizer in Medium. It is very lightweight and has nice undertones with an SPF 30. So far I think I like it but it does not cover up blemishes. the middle item is the Clean & Clear advantage popped pimple relief gel pen. It contains salicylic acid so i thought it would be nice for breakouts. It is in a convenient little pen for easy and "on-the-go" application. i have only used it a couple days but I haven't noticed any improvement. The 3rd product is the Maybelline Instant age rewind Eraser for Dark Circles in the color Brightener. It has a pink undertone that is nice for my dark undereye cricles. It is a nice highlight for my cheeks also but that might not work if you have a deeper skin tone.
I might do a little more in-depth reveiw of these once I use them for a while and see the results. :)

OOTD: school

Hello, since I have a day off i thoguth I would catch up on some blogging. I wore this outfit to school Tuesday. I'm sorry it took so long to post this.
I am wearing jeans from American Eagle, black tee from Victoria's Secret Pink collection, and a plum, cropped cardigan from American Eagle.
this is the pattern on the shoulders and sleeves of the cardigan. It is a lacey cutout pattern.

I generally dress down for class. (Sometimes I even go as far as wearing yoga pants) however, i always try to match and usually wear one cute piece and jewelry. I only have class 2 or 3 days a week because the other days I go to clinicals at the hospital and have to wear scrubs. (in case you didnt know I am a student nurse) I find it fun to wear something cute on classroom days. :)

OOTD: date night

Hey everyone! How's it going? Last Friday night my boyfriend & I went to the movies and then to dinner. We went to see The Devil Inside, which was the worst movie I have ever seen. I love scary movies, but this one had no suspense, it was documentary style, and the camera angles and movement made me dizzy. It was awful :( My boyfriend has banned me from picking movies from now on. haha. Even though it was awful, we had a good time together and I thought I would show you what I wore.
This cardigan is Mossimo from Target. I love the leopard print with turquoise trim & it is very comfortable.
These are quite possibly my favorite UGGS. (i have 7 pair) These are the short classics in teal. They are so pretty & also comfortable.

As you can tell, i go for very relaxed style when i hang out with my boyfriend. I like to wear either bootcut or skinny jeans with a cute shirt & comfy shoes. Sometimes we go out, sometimes we have movie nights in, & sometimes i drag him out shopping or he makes me go 4 wheeler riding ;)

Beauty Favorites of 2011: Make-up

Hello Everyone! I thought I would let you know what my beaity favorites were for 2011. These are the products I use on a daily bases.
These are the 4 prodcuts I use on my face daily, they are all from the Gardnier Nutritioniste Line. They are gentle & moisturizing so they are perfect for my sensitive, dry skin! The first one is a lightweight UV blocking lotion that contains SPF so I layer it under my foundation every morning. The ultimate 3 in one cleanser is great because it can be a gentle cleanser for everyday but if you apply more pressure it exfoliates. In addition, you can leave it on for 3 minutes and it works like a clarifying mask. The glass jar of Moisture Rescue Gel is what I apply every night before i go to bed. It is very cooling and calming. I also really like the "Refreshing Remover" makeup cleansing cloths because they clean off all of my makeup, even mascara, and do not make my face break out like other brands.
These 3 are for my specific problems. The first one is the Clean & Clear advantage. I apply it to whatever pimples i have and it helps them dry up and clear away. The next 2 are my absolute favorite finds of 2011! they are also from Gardnier. The green one is the Anti-Puff Roller that I roll under my eyes to relieve puffiness. The rollerball is cool and calming plus is contains caffeine which tightens and reduces swelling. The tan colored one is the Anti-Dark Circle Roller. It is a very lightweight concealer for your underee that is cooling and also contains caffeine. Since it is so lightweight it layers extremely well. I love these 2 Rollers because I have a lot of sinus congestion from allergies that cause undereye darkness and swelling. These def help me out everyday!
My favorite foundation is the Maybelline Super Stay Makeup. i use the color Sand Beige, which is usually perfect for me but I'm very light right now because it is winter so I need to go down a shade or two. haha. I set it with the Covergirl TruBlend Minerals in 410 Translucent light.
These are my concealers that I am alwyas reaching for: The first one has been used so much that the label has worn off, LOL. It is the ELF All over cover stick in Apricot. It is nice to cover blemishes and for the redness I get around my nose and between my eyebrows. It blends best when you use your fingers because it gets warm and pliable. I have noticed that it acutally has a light aprocot sent, which I found suprising. The second one is the Maybelline Coverstick Correction Concealer. It is a strange green color, but fades very well into the complection. It covers pimples or redness but has a very dry texture.
These are my fave for my cheeks: The first one is kind of embarrassing because I know that it is one of the cheekers from Covergirl but it is so used that the label has completely peeled off the back. haha I can tell you that it has a slight peach tint with rosey undertones. The bronzer is actually from 2010 I belive..it is the Victoria Secret Pink Collection. i dont think this exists any more and I am sad because I am hitting pan. I love it so much because it is really light and I have a very light skin that some bronzers look fake and disgusting on. however, I am sure there is something else out there i would like but I hate finding new cheek colors. Hope you guys liked to see my favorite make up products. I apologize for how long it has taken me to post something new. :( Nursing school is my greatest challege right now and I have no time for real life. I love it, but I am missing out on relax time. I am trying to finish up some ideas for my other favorites for 2011 like hair, perfumes, and clothes...I am also dying to go shopping for new makeup because there are tons of new prodcuts out right now! give me some recommendations on what your favorites are! :)Claire

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow*

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't been on here, nursing school is taking over my life..I just wanted to let you guys know that: it is snowing!! I love it. It has been since last night but so far we only have about an inch and a half. It is supposed to continue on tonight and it's only going to be 22 degrees tomorrow so I'm hoping for some accumulation! We usually have a decent amount of snow by this time. However this year it has been 50 degrees which is unheard of in West Virginia..Haha I'm sorry that you probably don't want to hear about our weather patterns. I'm just extremely excited for the snow. I'm hoping that we have a school delay in the morning so I can get in some extra study time. I will try to post some pics tomorrow. I would right now but its about 1am. There is something about the snow that makes me nocturnal. Anyway, I need to get some sleep and I just wanted to share my excitement! goodbye & goodnight
